Palisades Park Library Information

POLICIES - Registration Policy

The Palisades Park Public Library upholds the American Library Association’s Freedom to Read statement, and The Library Bill of Rights.

A valid library card must be presented at the circulation desk in order to charge out, pick up or renew library materials.

Residents of Palisades Park may apply for a free library card. Proof of residency must be shown upon application. The following are accepted forms of identification:

  • Driver’s license
  • Bergen County ID card
  • If you do not have one of the above forms of identification you must provide one of the following documents with proof of residence:
    •  utility bill
    •  home phone bill
    •  tax bill
    •  apartment lease

Library cards from other BCCLS libraries may be used to borrow materials.
There is a $2 replacement fee for lost library cards.

Children, ages 5-17, may be issued a library card under the authority of their parent or guardian, who must present valid identification and co-sign the child’s application. The parent/guardian is ultimately responsible for the return of all library materials charged to the child’s card, and for all the fines and replacement costs incurred by the child.

Apply for a Library Card

You can borrow on-line or in person from over 5 million items available on the shelves of 75 member libraries. Your library card opens up the world of the BCCLS databases - full-text articles from over 1,000 magazines and newspapers.

In addition to books, movies, CDs magazines, audiobooks, and databases, your library card is your ticket to the many cultural events at your library, including concerts, films, book clubs, lectures, and outstanding programs for children and teens.
